Nola M. Silzer

Nola 2Nola is primarily a family lawyer with extensive experience in both Provincial Court and Supreme Court family law proceedings and collaborative practices.  Her greatest satisfaction is in helping clients to negotiate their own fair agreements.  In each case she assesses her client’s situation carefully to determine which process will achieve the best result.

Nola has spent over 15 years dedicated to family law.   Prior to coming to McKimm & Lott in 2003, Nola was legal counsel with the Family Maintenance Enforcement Program for nine years and, before that, a senior policy analyst responsible for family court matters in the Court Services Branch of the Ministry of Attorney General. 

A member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group and the Family and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA),  Nola is trained as a mediator and holds a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute.  She has served on the executive of the Victoria CBA Family Section, the board of Peninsula Community Services, and the Sansbury Elementary School Parent Advisory Committee.  She is currently the chair of the Ministry and Personnel Committee at St. John’s United Church on the Saanich Peninsula.
